Cleaning the basket

The basket of your Philips Airfryer is easy to clean. Of course, it is also possible to clean the basket by hand. Use warm water with some washing-up liquid or a mild degreaser. You can do this in your sink, but also in the pan of the Airfryer, which you can then immediately wash. Let the device cool down for at least 30 minutes after the last use.

  • Soak the basket in the sink or in the Air fryer pan in warm water with some washing-up liquid for 10 minutes, then remove the food residues with a soft brush or sponge. Please note that the walls of the basket have a non-stick coating therefore do not use hard brushes, scouring pads, or other (metal) tools that can scratch and damage the non-stick coating. This also applies to aggressive cleaning agents.
  • Turn the basket over and scrub the bottom clean. This is allowed with a hard brush or a scouring pad. Be careful not to damage the pan’s non-stick coating with the edges of the basket. It is best to remove the basket from the pan when you clean the bottom of it.
  • If you used the pan to clean the basket, clean the pan now with a soft brush or sponge.
  • Dry everything with a soft dry cloth.
  • If the Airfryer does not smell fresh after cleaning, you can rub the basket and pan with the juice of a lemon. This neutralizes the odor. Cut a lemon in half, grease the pan and the basket with the lemon, place the pan and basket back in the Airfryer and let it stand for half an hour. Then rinse the basket and pan well.

Cleaning the pan (drain container)

The pan of your Philip Airfryer is easy to clean. Of course, it is also possible to clean the pan by hand. Use warm water and detergent for this. Tip: immediately clean the basket of your Airfryer (see ‘ cleaning the basket ‘).

  • Clean the pan with warm water and washing-up liquid or a mild degreaser. If there are baked-on food residues in the pan, add some warm water with washing-up liquid and let it soak for 10 minutes. Use a soft brush or soft sponge to clean the pan. The pan has a non-stick coating that can be damaged by using hard brushes, scouring pads or other (metal) tools that can scratch and damage the non-stick coating. This also applies to aggressive cleaning agents such as oven cleaners.
  • Dry the pan with a soft dry cloth.
  • If you want to prevent the pan from getting very dirty, you can choose to use baking paper or aluminum foil during baking. See ‘ the use of baking paper ‘ for this.

It reach the more difficult corners between and behind the heating element, you can use a small (tooth) brush or a skewer with a cloth around it. Dry everything afterward with a soft drying cloth.

  • Place a piece of aluminum foil in the Airfryer and put a thin layer of water on it (2 millimeters)
  • Cut a lemon or lime into pieces and place it on the foil
  • Turn on your Airfryer for 8 to 10 minutes at 180 degrees
  • The fat is collected on the aluminum foil
  • Remove the foil and the lemon or lime and polish everything and dry it with a soft drying cloth
